When you call into the design office, we will schedule an initial consultation. This no-charge
meeting is set so that we can get to know you and your outdoor space. At the conclusion
of this meeting, we will give you a bid for completion of your landscape plans. If you accept
the bid, a contract will be signed and we will proceed with the plans. The first step
is the presentation of a conceptual layout plan. Changes are made after discussing
what other possibilities exist to fit your lifestyle. Once there is a final acceptance
of the revised conceptual layout plan, we move on to working drawings.
Depending on your situation, these can include a planting plan, irrigation plan,
drainage plan, lighting plan, and construction detail intent drawings. Prices
are surprisingly inexpensive for the value and completeness you receive in each set of plans.

Harlan received his degree in Ornamental Horticulture from California Polytechnic
State University, San Luis Obispo, in 1976. He became a licensed landscape contractor in 1979.
Then he went on to become a licensed landscape architect in 1998. He has over thirty
years of experience in residential and commercial design and construction.
Harlan had designed for several landscape design/construction firms before founding
HDH Design Group in 2003.
Jill Hardesty, designer

Jill received her degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of California,
Davis, in June, 2007. She is planning to sit for her landscape architect's license in 2009.
Jill has been working for HDH Design Group since 2005 as an intern. At the beginning
of 2007, she started working as an employee.
